The College of Lake County has part-time teaching positions opening up
for courses during the Summer and Fall 2005 terms in Linux. These
classes mirror many of the competencies outlined by LPI certification
including:
PC Hardware & Architecture
Installation & Package Management
Commands
Devices & File Systems
X
Kernel
Booting and Run Levels
Account and Process Management
Basic Shell Scripting
Basic Network Administration
Network fundamentals & Services
Security
Printing & Print Servers
These courses will be offered in the evenings and weekends, and
primarily attract returning, adult students. Candidates for this position must
have a bachelor's degree in a field related to computer technology and
a strong background in Linux system administration. Experience
teaching at the college level is preferred.
