Subject: Net Objectives' upcoming free seminar, "Use Cases and the Ever-Unfolding Story"
Date: Fri, 13 Feb 2004 05:36:14 -0500

Hi Mike,

I was hoping you could post the announcement below to NWCLUG.  We are holding a free seminar on February 25th in Schaumburg entitled “Use Cases and the Ever-Unfolding Story.”  This talk is intended for anyone who wants to understand how to develop requirements for a software system. It is applicable for all who must be familiar with developing requirements for a software project, including analysts, architects, programmers, and would therefore be appropriate for most of your group members.

This talk is by no means a sales/marketing pitch, but is very much a technical, conference-style seminar similar to ones we’ve presented at SDWest, JavaOne, etc.

If you can not post this type of announcement, would you please pass this on to anyone else who might benefit from this free seminar?

Let me know if you have any questions, or if there is a more appropriate person to send this to.

Thanks in advance,

Mike Shalloway

Hi,

I just wanted to invite everyone to a free seminar entitled “Use Cases and the Ever-Unfolding Story”.  Net Objectives’ Senior Consultant Doug Shimp will be presenting the talk, which will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2004 from 6:30-9pm at the Schaumburg Regional Airport Meeting Room.  Pizza and beverages will be provided.

It is a particularly exciting talk because the speaker, Doug Shimp, is one of only a handful of people certified to teach Alistair Cockburn’s Writing Effective Use Cases course based on the book of the same title.  This talk not only introduces Alistair’s pragmatic concepts but also takes them a step further by discussing how to develop use cases in an agile manner.  This seminar is for anyone who wants to understand how to develop requirements for a software system. It is applicable for all who must be familiar with developing requirements for a software project, including analysts, architects, programmers, and so on...

For more information, please scroll down after my signature, or you may go to our website at http://www.netobjectives.com/events/pr_chi_2004_02_eus.htm.

This talk is by no means a sales/marketing pitch, but is very much a technical, conference-style presentation similar to ones we’ve presented at SDWest, JavaOne, etc.

We still have plenty of room, so please feel free to pass this email along to anybody you feel may benefit and would like to attend this free seminar.

Thanks,

He has played all roles in software development (developer, QA, Analyst, Manager, Leader etc) and has established himself as a leader in the field. Most recently Doug worked in the finance industry as a leader for the management and development of core finance technology. The finance company was a child for a much larger parent that needed an emergent business/technology trend setter to push its IT systems forward. Doug was successful in enabling the parent company to attain a dominant market position by providing incubation space for the innovation of key finance technology.
