Everybody talks about getting more bang for their IT buck.
What does it take to maximize the total impact that IT
spending has on the business? And how do you measure
what you've gained? The IT Productivity PocketGuide is filled
with tips & expert insights about what it takes to optimize
IT's financial performance. Download your free copy!

-----------------------------------------------------------

This week, we tested four route optimizer devices. If you can
handle the complexity of BGP, Internap's FCP 100 has an outstanding
mix of features, functionality and management. If DNS is more up
your alley, Radware's LinkProof is manageable and scalable.

Our editor's hot white paper pick discusses a new solution for complex
IP networks. And it's the last chance to test your knowledge of
securing
the edge of your network. Take our latest TechQuiz today.

As always, please feel free to message us directly if you have any
comments or questions (mailto:newsletter@nwc.com).

Best regards,
--The Network Computing Report Team

The four devices we tested were up to the task of getting the most out
of multiple ISP connections, despite using two different methods.
Whether you choose a BGP-based optimizer or the simpler DNS device,
you'll be on the right road to managing your multiple ISP connections.

10) Current Forum Threads
------------------------------------------------------------
a) Ask the Experts: Cisco MLS
We're experiencing a large number of runts between two IP VLANs that
use
MLS to talk. Once the MLS cache has been created, does the MLS use
cut-through switching? That is, could the runts be propagated between
the VLANs?
http://www.nwc.com/forum/askexp/showReplies.jhtml?sid=1001&fid=30&tid=125400018

b) Shop Talk: Enterprise AV Suites
After four years with McAfee Total AV suite, I have been testing
alternatives. Others tested so far include NOD32, which is an extremely
fast scanner but crashes Windows XP fairly regularly, and CA eTrust
7.0,
which has sleek management, a competitive upgrade price that is
excellent and no problems to report after five days--but no viruses
have
tested it yet. Administration is intuitive, I only had to make one
support call to get everything working, and reports are simple and
functional. I have not yet tested Symantec Enterprise AV, but the cost
is approximately three times CA eTrust RFP. Does anyone else have
comments?

suppliers and contractors to stop using the terms "master" and "slave"
