Security was once the main barrier to enterprise IM deployment, but
today's suites support full encryption and authenticate against your
existing systems. Plus, they typically support a version of directory
services. Instant messaging has moved into groupware products as well.
IBM, Sun, Novell and, to a certain extent, Microsoft offer IM as part 
of
a larger groupware package. We tested seven; find out which one has the
best security and fullest feature set.
