Inside HP This Week

Go East, VP: Peter Blackmore, vice-president, HP Enterprise Systems
Group, met with Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Medgyessy at the end of
June to show Medgyessy a sample of an HP storage unit. The model will be
produced in Hungary at a Flextronics facility with 200 employees. HP
already produces computers, monitors and printers at various other
facilities in Hungary. Blackmore, right, attended an American Chamber of
Commerce AmCham business luncheon in Budapest, the first stop on a tour of
Eastern and Central Europe, he said....Did you know Bulgaria was
becoming "of strategic importance to HP"? Blackmore said so himself when he
made stop two on his tour. While there, he met with Bulgaria's President
Georgi Parvanov and announced that HP was setting up an international
expert center in Bulgaria that would develop and implement high-tech
solutions in the state and local administration. The tour also included
Poland and Slovakia.
